It has been a long time since I've written. I just added a lot of pictures, so I will update on some of the highlights.
In late October, I went on a hike with some friends in the Envi Sci department as well as went to Carter's Mountain orchard. There are a few pictures from that with the fall colors.
Ami, Karen, and I went for a walk in Walnut Creek on a fall Sunday, and there are some pictures of us playing with the dogs.
I woke up at 330 to make my way up to Warrenton and then Washington DC to watch Rosy run her 2nd Marine Corps Marathon. She set a PR and broke her expectation. It was a long, but very fun day!
There are several pictures from Halloween, including me and my little brother Marquez. I was dressed like Einstein. My roommate Adam dressed as Gumby, which, in my opinion, won the award for most physically obtrusive costume.
For Thanksgiving, I headed to Kansas City and visited with my family. We went to a home game for the Kansas Jayhawk basketball team, a homecoming for my dad who had not seen a home game there since he was in college, before Vietnam. It was very emotional.
In early December, I flew out to San Francisco and visited my good friend Verdy. I rented a car, and traveled down Route 1, traveling to Monterrey, where I stopped at the aquarium. I went on 17-mile drive, went to Point Lobos state preserve, many parks in Big Sur, and spent a night in Morro Bay at the Montera de Oro state park.
I drove to Pasadena to spend time with my cousin Christopher. We went to the Pasadena Orchestra, visited all around LA, saw his office in Glendale, and went for a hike. I spent one day visiting Joshua Tree National park in South Eastern California, before returning to San Francisco for the AGU winter conference.
2008 looks to be an equally promising year, as trips to Moscow and hopefully Peru unfold.
The most recent picture is a self portrait of myself at Point Lobos national reserve.
